Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

DiveTracker is a free Progressive Web App (PWA) created by Gonzalo Gallardo, an independent PADI Instructor and developer based in Roatán, Honduras. Contact: gongallardo12@gmail.com

2. What data we collect

We collect nothing. DiveTracker does not have servers, databases, or any backend infrastructure. All data you enter in the app — activities, earnings, tips, notes — is stored exclusively on your device using your browser's local storage.

We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone)
• Location data
• Usage analytics from within the app
• Financial data
• Any information that leaves your device

3. Google Analytics

Our landing pages (divetracker.gongallardo.com and gongallardo.com) use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit and install the app. This data is anonymous and includes only general information like country, device type, and page views. No personal information is collected through Google Analytics.

4. Optional Google Sign-In

DiveTracker offers an optional feature to connect your Google account. If you choose to use this feature:

• You authorize DiveTracker to create a Google Sheet in your own Google Drive
• Your activity data is synced to that sheet — which belongs to you and is stored in your Google account
• We do not access, read, or store your Google account data on any server
• You can disconnect your Google account at any time from Settings → Google account → Disconnect
• Disconnecting removes the authorization token from your device

When you connect Google, DiveTracker requests access to:

• Google Sheets — to create and write your personal log sheet
• User info (email) — only to display your name in the app

5. Data storage and security

All app data is stored in your browser's localStorage on your device. This means:

• If you clear your browser data, your app data will be deleted
• If you lose your device, your data is lost (unless you used Google Sheets backup)
• No one — including us — can access your data remotely

6. Third-party services

DiveTracker uses the following third-party services on its landing pages:

• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage statistics
• Google Fonts — typography (Inter, Instrument Serif, DM Sans)
• Chart.js — data visualization (loaded from cdnjs)

The app itself (once installed) works fully offline and does not load any third-party scripts.

7. Children's privacy

DiveTracker is intended for dive professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
